And if you should count the favors of Allah , you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful
[Surat an-Nahl: 16:18).
The Prophet (pbuh) taught us: “Look at those people who have less than
you and never look at those who have more grants than you, this will
ensure that you will not depreciate Allah’s favors” (Muslim). Have you
ever sat down to actually count every single blessing
Allah has given us? And then compare yourself to others. We should try
to make it a habit to count our blessings, so whenever we feel that life
is unfair because we cannot have one thing or another, we come to
realize how much we truly have. Ramadan shows us this the most- having a
meal at the end of a long day fasting feels incredibly satisfying. Now
imagine all those who ‘fasting’ is a normal part of the day, not because
they are doing so voluntarily, but because they truly cannot afford any
food. And yet today i had a choice of three different foods for iftar.
SubhanAllah- may Allah make us realize his blessings, enable us to thank
for them and inspire us to share with others.
